Hi MStead, I successfully sequenced Adobe Acorbat 8 Pro. But you must prepare your sequencer machine before start to sequence. First install the Acrobat PDF Printer Driver on the sequencer machine (you must install the driver later on each client). Extract the driver from a native installation (%ProgramFiles% Adobe. XTRAS or so; look if you can find an inf-file like adobepdf.inf) and install it using control panel/printers, add, lpt1, have disk ). Now start sequencing to q: aco8pro and select each plug-in during installation you need. Publish the package.

You can use the plug-ins starting for example word or internet explorer through the virtual package. Now you can use acrobat via SoftGrid, but with some problems.
In the version I tried, I must register Acrobat for each user and each client device (the registration does not move with the user from client to client). I hearted that a volume license should be available without registration. Regards Marcel. Auto Serial Number Lookup.
I don't think that will work for our needs. I can understand the print driver portion being a problem, but beyond that we can't have any other limitations or issues surrounding the use of the product. I think for our needs right now, we might be stuck with doing it the old fashioned way. My users have varying needs not only amongst themselves but also the clients they work for. We might have a guy that one day needs to be able to save files in one version an application for one client and then next day need to save files for a different version. In general applications are smart enough to be backwards compatible, but not always. We were hoping to use SoftGrid as a means of running these various versions with low overhead and simplistic administration.
I have heard rumors that the next version of SoftGrid will provide for some new features; such as being allowed to talk between bubbles, but who knows. That'd be the 'holy grail' of SoftGrid, dubbed 'context support' in the past who knows what will be the exact feature term (if it goes accoring names of late from MS, it could be something like 'Microsoft Virtualized Application Interoperatibility Access Policy' maybe;-)).
I think nothing definitive has been said about when it comes out, but at least 5.0 has been in the rumors although someone mentioned something about limited context-support in 4.5. Thank you for this update. I have blogged on the Adobe Acrobat site about the licensing problem and was told indirectly that Adobe was working on a fix for this problem. I was castigated for raising the possibility that this was related to the Norton 360 problem with Vista. Apparently, Adobe Acrobat simply does not work with Vista's UAC on, since I can now do most of the operations without UAC but not with it on. Does anyone believe that Acrobat at least needs to notify users about this problem instead of allowing them to buy their software and then stonewall users allowing them to think that the problem is in Vista rather than in Acrobat?
I understand that CS3 has the same problems.
